Ash Wednesday

Here is another of my “digital-only” sermons. I found this one on a floppy disk with the file name ASHWED.96 in an old WordPerfect format. There’s a chance that I have a paper copy of this sermon, but I haven’t seen it yet. I do remember hearing the story about the basketball coach when I was a teenager, though.

Typed sermon from 1973. Originally listed as a “Trinity XV” sermon, but that was crossed out, likely due to the changes in lectionary since the 1970s.

Typed sermon from 1976.

Typed sermon from 1984. Likely preached at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Wausau, WI. Gospel verses are listed as Mark 9: 14-27, which doesn’t seem to have a direct correlation in the current Revised Common Lectionary.
